Ghana attended the 4th China-Africa Economic Trade Expo (CAETE), which took place from June 12–15, 2025, in Changsha, Hunan Province, China. With the theme “China and Africa: Together Toward Modernization,” the Expo aimed to improve trade and economic interactions between China and the African continent.
It brought together more than 30,000 participants from various industries, including manufacturing, apparel, transportation, and agribusiness, in addition to more than 4,600 Chinese and African businesses.
Ghana made use of the Expo to establish trade partnerships, investigate new markets, and further market Made-in-Ghana goods and services. Additionally, as part of the nation’s economic diplomacy foreign policy goal, it took advantage of the chance to draw in investors.
Products from cocoa, textiles, pharmaceuticals, agriculture, wood, and leather were among the more than thirty (30) Ghanaian exhibitors that took part in the Expo.

At the Expo’s opening ceremony, H.E. Wang Yi, the People’s Republic of China’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, promised China will support Africa’s modernization efforts.
H.E. Yi added that modernization was a goal that all sides shared; thus, he thought the Expo would increase China-Africa collaboration chances and yield the best possible outcomes for everybody.
He declared that China would keep working with African nations in the areas of governance, creating plans to expedite the implementation of the ten-point partnership action plan for Africa’s modernization, signing economic partnership agreements to promote the import of African goods, and helping Africa undergo a digital transformation.
