The Ministry of Education in Ghana has warned students, parents and guardians against fake 2026 Computerized School Selection and Placement System (CSSPS) placement results being circulated on social media.

The warning follows reports that some unscrupulous individuals are digitally manipulating CSSPS placement slips and sharing altered documents online while falsely claiming that the Ministry of Education has changed students’ original Senior High School (SHS) placement results.

The Ministry has described the claims as false and misleading, urging the public to rely only on information obtained through the official CSSPS platform and approved channels.

According to preliminary internal checks conducted by the Ministry, some of the placement slips circulating online do not correspond with records generated by the official CSSPS platform. The Ministry specifically identified discrepancies involving the barcodes and QR codes displayed on some of the purported placement documents.

The Ministry further stated that its internal systems and audit logs do not support claims that students’ placements have been changed. Available evidence instead suggests that some of the documents have been digitally altered or manipulated to create the impression that legitimate CSSPS placement results were changed.

The Education Ministry said the circulation of fake placement documents represents a serious attempt to undermine public confidence in Ghana’s school placement system and create unnecessary confusion and anxiety among students, parents and guardians.

As part of efforts to investigate the matter, the Ministry has referred the issue to the Cyber Security Authority (CSA) and other relevant security agencies for further investigation and possible action.

The Ministry is therefore advising the public to avoid sharing unverified CSSPS placement slips, screenshots or claims on social media. Students, parents and guardians are encouraged to verify their 2026 SHS placement results only through official CSSPS channels.

The Ministry of Education has reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring that the 2026 CSSPS placement exercise is conducted in a transparent, fair and accountable manner.

It also assured students and parents that legitimate concerns regarding CSSPS placement results, school placement and admission will be properly investigated through the appropriate official channels.
