Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, the Member of Parliament for the Ashanti region’s Manhyia South Constituency, has chosen and submitted his candidacy papers to compete in the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) parliamentary primary for a fifth time.
Even though the nomination was only opened today, he was able to pick and file it at the party’s constituency office with the help of his supporters, also known as NAPO, who serves as the Energy Minister.
Although NAPO was predicted to be one of the party members chosen by the NPP Flagbearer to be his running companion, his choice to choose and register to run for the seat once more has many people perplexed.
After the papers were submitted, he told the media that he was certain to win the primary and take the party’s seat in the constituency.
