The Rotational Nurses and Midwives Association (RNMA) has pleaded with its members to maintain their composure while management takes the required actions to get their allowances paid.

This comes after an unannounced visit by the association to the Ministry of Health (MoH) on May 18, 2023. Since their deployment by the National Service Secretariat (NSS) in June 2022, the Rotational Nurses have not been paid any allowances.

The agreement achieved at its meeting with the MoH was announced in a statement that was co-signed by the RNMA’s General Secretary John Domechille and National President Jaspah Dzorkah on Monday, May 22, 2023.

According to the statement, “Financial clearance for this current rotation group of Nurses and Midwives is expected to be released hopefully by the end of this month.”

Additionally, it stated that “biometric registration would not be required. Your Ghana card information is the only prerequisite for creating the staff ID and paying your monthly allowance.

The group continued, “We will continue the widespread, massive demonstration through the end of this month.”
