Communications Minister Sam George has responded to a video circulating on social media in which a man makes serious allegations involving the minister and his office.
According to Sam George, the individual claims that he was placed under surveillance and subjected to alleged 24-hour hacking, and that he reported the matter to the Ghana Police Service during the tenure of former Inspector-General of Police (IGP) George Akuffo Dampare.
The man also alleges that the police covered up the matter and further claims that his brother was allegedly assassinated as part of an attempt to silence him.
Responding to the allegations, Sam George said the incidents being referenced allegedly occurred in November 2023, when he was not serving as Communications Minister and therefore did not hold the official or legal authority associated with the office he currently occupies.
The minister described the accusations as serious and unfounded allegations that appear to implicate him in criminal conduct.
Sam George said he has consequently filed a formal complaint with the relevant authorities and requested that the individual behind the allegations be invited to provide evidence and substantiate his claims.
He said the move is intended to allow the appropriate authorities to investigate the matter thoroughly and establish the facts in the interest of justice and accountability.
For God and Country.
