The Ghana Black Stars, the country’s football team, were the subject of a working visit by the Parliamentary Committee on Youth and Sports at the Accra Sports Stadium.

The purpose of the visit was to give the team some words of support before today, March 21, 2025, when they play Les Sao of Chad in a World Cup qualification match.

Before the game, Ghana’s entire support for the Black Stars was promised to the players by Hon. Kofi Iddi Adams, the sector minister, who introduced the Committee to the team.

Additionally, he pleaded with the players to give it their all and win the highly anticipated game.

The Black Stars team was inspired and encouraged by Hon. Ernest Henry Norgbey, the chairman of the Youth and Sports Committee, who emphasized the support of Ghana’s 30 million citizens, including the 276 delegates from the various constituencies.

He also emphasised the significance of collaboration and a sense of national spirit as the keys to triumph, as well as the nation’s collective ambitions to qualify for the 2026 World Cup with hopes of making it to the finals in the USA.

Hon. Vincent Ekow Assafuah, the Committee’s Ranking Member, emphasized the value of togetherness due to the public’s passion for football.

“Sometimes that is the only time you find all the people in the country, members of NPP and NDC singing with one unison”, he said.

He underlined that patriotism, not money, is what motivates players. He reminded the team that maintaining concentration is crucial, particularly during the game’s first ninety minutes. He had high hopes that the team would win handily.

The team’s coach, Otoo Addo, praised the committee for their work and gave Ghanaians the assurance that the Black Stars would fly the national flag with pride.
