Health sector faces multiple infractions as PAC examines Auditor-General’s 2024 Report.

The Public Accounts Committee (PAC) of Parliament resumed its public meeting on Monday to examine the Auditor-General’s Report on Ghana’s Ministries, Departments, and Agencies’ Accounts for the fiscal year that concluded on December 31, 2024.

Under the leadership of Hon. Grace Ayensu, the Deputy Minister of Health and Ketan MP, the Committee was presented with the Ministry of Health and the Ghana Health Service. Unserved bonds, unpresented payment vouchers, unearned salaries, verifying deceased individuals, and paying 13th month salaries from Internally Generated Funds (IGF) without permission from the Ministry of Finance were among the transgressions mentioned in the Auditor-General’s report for 2024.

Greater Accra Regional Hospital, Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital, Tamale Teaching Hospital, Savanna Government Hospital, Dadieso Government Hospital, and Sefwi Akontombra Government Hospital were among the impacted establishments. The National Reconstructive Plastic Surgery and Burns Centre, the National Cardiothoracic Centre, and the Neonatology Centre were among the other organisations mentioned.
