The Ministry of Trade, Agribusiness, and Industry (MoTAI) has reaffirmed its commitment to attracting strategic investments in the textile and garment sector as part of the 24-Hour Economy and Accelerated Export Development Programme’s efforts to boost industrialisation and job creation.

As part of this agenda, the Ministry, in collaboration with key partners including GIZ, the Tony Blair Institute for Global Change, Ghana Investment Promotion Centre (GIPC), Ghana Free Zones Authority (GFZA), Ghana Export Promotion Authority (GEPA), Jobs for Economic Transformation (JET), the International Finance Corporation (IFC), and the International Labour Organisation (ILO), is hosting Ghana’s Inbound Textiles and Apparel Roadshow from the 10th-12th of November 2025 in Ac

The Roadshow comes after GIZ’s successful interactions with foreign investors at the Munich Fabric Start and the Textiles and Garments Roadshow in Germany earlier this year. It seeks to highlight Ghana as the top location in West Africa for the production of sustainable and ethical clothing.

The three-day event’s highlights include matchmaking sessions with local manufacturers, policy presentations by government officials, guided tours of top clothing factories and industrial parks like Tema and the Bright Industrial Zone, and a networking cocktail with diplomats and industry stakeholders.

In order to exhibit interest in investing in Ghana’s textile and apparel industry, a team of investors met with MoTAI officials on Monday, November 11, 2025, at the Ministry’s conference room in Accra, as part of preparations for the Roadshow.

A draft policy framework for the growth of the textile and apparel industry was given during the conference by Mr. Kwasi Antwi, Head of the Strategic Anchor Directorate. It outlined important government initiatives to improve value addition and competitiveness.

Additionally, Nana Poquah Adiamah, the National Coordinator of the Association of Ghana Apparel Manufacturers (AGAM), gave a talk about Ghana’s textile and clothing industry.

She emphasised the Association’s emphasis on compliance, capacity building, and administrative support for its members while reiterating AGAM’s willingness to work with both domestic and international investors.

She added that AGAM is utilising current trade laws and the Economic Partnership Agreement (EPA) to increase market access and spur industry expansion.

The Ministry expressed hope that Ghana’s standing as a competitive hub for clothing manufacture in Africa will be strengthened by the Inbound Roadshow and the continued interactions with investors, generating respectable jobs and increasing non-traditional exports.
