Dr. Jean Kaseya, the Director General of the Africa Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (Africa CDC), is in Ghana for a working visit hosted by the Ministry of Health.

The purpose of this tour is to further the strategic relationship between the Africa CDC and the Government of Ghana in the areas of emergency preparedness and public health security.

As part of his formal obligations, Dr. Kaseya will pay a courtesy call on the President of the Republic of Ghana and hold high-level meetings with the Minister for Health.

In order to achieve common goals, such as increasing investment in vaccine production, developing health infrastructure, and strengthening disease preventive systems, the Ministry is still dedicated to cultivating close cooperation with the Africa CDC.

Enhancing emergency response systems to make sure Ghana is better prepared to handle future public health threats will also be a major topic of discussion.

In order to achieve sustainable health outcomes for the people of Ghana and the larger African continent, the Ministry sees this visit as an essential first step.
