Vice President Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang attended the official logo launching for Wesley Girls’ High School’s 190th anniversary festivities, which were themed “Honouring Our Roots, Igniting Tomorrow.”
A year-long celebration of over two centuries of brilliance began with this occasion.
The vice president acknowledged the outstanding mothers whose vision and unshakeable faith in the potential of teaching girls laid the groundwork for the organization that the school now honours.
The school has already made investments to enable women to lead, serve, and change society even before discussions about gender equality became widespread. They benefit from a future they envisioned and cultivated.
Vice President Opoku-Agyemang also used the occasion to honour the numerous unsung heroes whose contributions are frequently overlooked, including as the drivers, caterers, groundskeepers, cleaners, administrative staff, and other support workers whose work has been as essential to the Wesley Girls’ narrative.
The school honours the aspirations and sacrifices of its predecessors as it commemorates 190 years of God’s faithfulness to Wesley Girls’ High School.
Even though many of them never attended the school, they gave their all to establishing possibilities that have subsequently helped many young women.
May the school continue to be guided by their vision.
Vice President Opoku-Agyemang extends her heartfelt gratitude to the Anniversary Planning Committee, the School Administration, and everyone else who has put in many hours to plan the event and set the stage for what looks to be an unforgettable celebration.
