The Speaker of Parliament, Alban Sumana Kingsford Bagbin, has advocated for increased collaboration between Ghana and the United States to support long-term growth and development.

The Speaker expressed hope that the visit will further strengthen ties between the two nations while speaking during a courtesy call by a delegation of U.S. Congress members.

He called for ongoing assistance to further the nation’s development objectives, pointing out that Ghana has one of the best democratic freedoms in the world.

Vern Buchanan, the delegation’s leader, stated that the purpose of the tour was to interact with the Speaker, gain insight from his experiences, and share ideas regarding parliamentary governance and leadership.

He continued by saying that the delegation was dedicated to looking at ways to improve Ghana’s long-standing ties with the United States.

Alfred Oko Vanderpuije, the chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee, and Alexander Kwamena Afenyo-Markin, the Minority Leader, greeted the delegation and praised the visit.

They emphasised how crucial it is for Ghana and the US to work together more, especially in areas that would boost employment, draw in investment, and provide young people more possibilities.
