The leadership of Kristo Asafo Mission of Ghana, which includes all church organs, fellowships, boards, and councils, expresses its full support for the Leader’s decision, Nana Kwadwo Safo Akofena.

We would want to clarify that none of the purported funeral ceremonies occurring at the Apostle Safo Suaye Center in Gomoa Mpota are associated with our leadership.

Additionally, we are aware that the Aduana Kotoko Royal family of Essumeja has secured an injunction prohibiting any funeral or burial-related activity.

The family has also told us that they have properly alerted the relevant security authorities to stop the burial and funeral ceremonies.

We would want to clarify that both the Apostle Safo Suaye Centre and the museum building where the event is being held are legitimate church properties.

“Earlier today, Hon. Adwoa Safo approached some facility Management Committee members of the Museum to demand the keys to the facility but was refuse,” the statement read.

“We also received intelligence of an attempt to break into the facility. We have made every effort to protect the facility and the Apostle Safo Suaye Centre, but the police response has not been positive, either in protecting the Museum or in stopping the burial ceremony, even after the injunction was duly served on them,” the statement continued.

In addition, our internal security operations have been halted by the Ministry of the Interior.

As things are, the church cannot rely on governmental protection or use its own security to safeguard its property.

As a result, we express our disapproval of the National Security apparatus’s conduct and our strong belief that the church has not been handled fairly by the Police and National Security system.

Since the Kristo Asafo Mission is not known for using violence or acting inappropriately in public, we do not wish to enforce the law ourselves.

“Our concern is that it is becoming increasingly difficult to still control our teeming congregation who are getting impatient on daily basis to protect our properties and stopping the small portion of membership to violate their rites,” statement read.

We call on the police and the entire national security system to follow the law and enforce the Court Injunction issued by the Accra High Court on Wednesday, July 29, 2026.

Again, to all of our members who want a proper burial for our beloved Founder, we have been informed that Hon. Adwoa Safo intends not to lay our beloved Founder and father in state, but rather to use a decoy and clandestinely bury a fake body so that her followers believe our beloved Founder is buried.

Therefore, we would like to let all of our members know that we will continue to demand the genuine body of our beloved Founder in order to give him the proper funeral he so richly earned, even if a decoy is buried in secret.
