39 protesters who were detained for unlawful behavior during the most recent three-day protest coordinated by the pressure group Democracy Hub have been remanded into police prison by the Accra Circuit Court.

Ten individuals accused of unlawful assembly conspiracy entered a not guilty plea in court. Their matter was postponed until October 8 and they were remanded.

Nine protestors entered a not guilty plea after being accused of conspiracy to commit a crime, unlawful assembly, causing unlawful damage, and offensive conduct. Their appearance was postponed until October 8.

A third group of eleven demonstrators had their cases postponed until October 8 and were sent into prison custody.

Nine more defendants were remanded to appear in court on October 11 in a separate setting.

In addition, someone who neglected to show up for court was the subject of a bench warrant.
