A Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) second-year student died after falling from a storey building in his hostel.
A level 200 student pursuing a Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in Agribusiness Management, the deceased was identified as Ransford Amankwah Asomani.
The hostel outside the university’s Ayeduase campus is where he fell on Sunday, February 8, 2026.
The police patrol team assisted his colleagues in transporting him to the university hospital, where he was declared dead upon arrival.
The parents of the dead have been notified, according to a statement released by the University Relations Officer, Dr. Daniel Norris Bekoe, on Monday, February 9, 2026.
“The KNUST police in collaboration with the university security services have commenced investigations into the incident. Management will provide further updates to the media and the public as soon as all the facts are established,” he said.
