The Member of Parliament (MP) for the Hohoe seat in the Volta Region, John Peter Amewu, has stated that all candidates for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) flagbearer position have nothing to give and are failures, with the exception of Alan Kwadwo Kyerematen, whom he believes is the greatest candidate to head the party.
On Tuesday, July 18, 2023 at Ho, the Hohoe MP told a large crowd of delegates from Ho Central, Ho West, Adaklu, and Agortime-Ziope constituencies that he did not connect himself with failures.
“I don’t associate with failures.” I Johnny will not deliver you anything less than the best of the ten candidates in the next elections. Why would I bring something to the region when I know it is bad for my people? Do you honestly think I can do that?” Mr Amewu enquired.
The Hohoe MP went on to say that it is because of this that he has allied himself with the flagbearer aspirant, allowing the NPP to break the eight.
Mr Amewu encourages delegates in the Volta area to go into the elections with the goal of voting for someone who can bring development to the region.
As a result, he urged delegates to vote overwhelmingly for Mr Kyerematen to lead the NPP into the 2024 general elections in order for the party to break the eight-year streak.
The flagbearer candidate is now campaigning in the Volta area. The three-day tour is scheduled to conclude today, Wednesday, July 19, 2023.
