Five days after his family reported him missing, the partially burned body of a 38-year-old immigration officer was found at Abuom Junction, close to Kwabenya, in the Greater Accra area.
After multiple unsuccessful attempts to contact the deceased via his cell phone, the irate family of Steffen King Amoah, better known as Nana Kofi, filed a complaint with the Taifa Police on July 4, 2025, at approximately 4:30 p.m.
According to reports, he left his home at Gye Nyame House, Musuku Junction, in Kwabenya, to have a conversation with a friend at Ashongman Estate, also in Accra.
According to myjoyonline.com, his brother Akwasi Amoako verified the death and stated that Amoah’s body was covered with numerous stab wounds to the neck and chest.
He claimed that it was partially burned because the murderers tried to set fire to the body, which was thought to have been covered in a woolen carpet, at a location on the Abuom-Abokobi road.
Amoako and other family members recognized the remains, which have now been placed at the Police Hospital Mortuary.
Amoah joined the Ghana Immigration Service in 2013 after being born and raised in Kumasi’s Old Tafo neighborhood.
On March 28, 2018, in Tafo Nhyiaeso in Kumasi, Amoah, a well-liked employee at the Ghana Immigration Service headquarters’ Sports Department, wed his sweetheart, a policewoman.
The couple is fortunate to have a 4-year-old kid and a 5-month-old infant.
A 36-year-old man who was identified as Amoah’s acquaintance was remanded into detention by a Kwabenya Circuit Court on Monday, July 8, 2025.
