A high-level police mission has been sent to the Savannah Region by Inspector-General of Police (IGP) Christian Tetteh Yohuno in the wake of violent skirmishes that claimed many lives.
The Ghana Police Service said in a statement that the purpose of the tour is to discuss ways to bring peace back to Sawla, Gbeniyiri, Giniri, and other impacted areas by meeting with traditional leaders, opinion leaders, and community representatives.
The action is part of larger security measures to bolster its presence in the area and stop the violence from getting worse, the Service said.
