Godwin Avenorgbo, a well-known experienced broadcaster and the Director of Communications for the Melcom Group of Companies, has reportedly passed away.
Late on Monday, the Ghana Broadcasting Corporation (GBC), his longtime employer of many years, announced his untimely death on Facebook with a brief message.
The charming Godwin Avenorgbo, known to his contemporaries and mentees as “The Grand Master,” participated fully in the Ghana Journalists Association’s (GJA) 75th Anniversary Commemorative Lecture held at the La Palm Royal Beach Hotel in Accra on Thursday, August 15.
He oversaw the anniversary planning committee as its chairman.
With a picture of Godwin Avenorgbor in a laid-back position, the GBC Facebook post just stated that the “Grandmaster” had bowed out and wished his “gentle soul” a restful sleep.
Godwin Avenorgbo is widely known for his extensive tenure at GBC, the country’s premier broadcaster. He anchors a number of shows there with his unique voice and captivating style, first as a journalist and broadcaster and then as a public relations and corporate communications expert.
He served as a public relations and communications consultant for numerous Ghanaian businesses and organizations until the end of his life.
